Crochet Spider Pattern (Easy Amigurumi Halloween Spider)

This round-bodied spider is a fast, cute Halloween project — great scattered across a mantel, tucked into a spiderweb coaster, or hung from a doorway.

Materials

• Black worsted weight yarn (about 15g)
• Small amount of white or red yarn for eyes/markings
• 4.0mm crochet hook
• Fiberfill stuffing
• Yarn needle
• Pipe cleaner pieces (optional, for posable legs)

Fasten off, leaving a tail. Weave through remaining stitches and cinch closed.

Legs (make 8)

Chain 10, then sc in 2nd chain from hook and across. Fasten off leaving a tail at each end.

For posable legs, insert a short length of pipe cleaner into the crocheted tube before closing the end, allowing you to bend each leg into a realistic spider stance.

Assembly

Sew four legs evenly spaced along each side of the body, angled slightly downward and outward.

Eyes

With white yarn, embroider or attach a small cluster of tiny eyes on the front top of the body — spiders traditionally have 6-8 small eyes, but 2-4 simple dots reads clearly enough for a decorative piece.

Finishing

Weave in all ends. Bend the legs into a natural crouching or climbing pose.

Tip: for a fuzzy, more realistic spider texture, brush the body gently with a wire pet brush after stuffing — it raises the yarn fibers into a soft, fuzzy finish.
