Crochet Ghost Garland Pattern (Easy Halloween Decor)
Free crochet ghost garland pattern โ a string of cute, simple amigurumi ghosts perfect for Halloween mantel or window decor.

A string of soft, round-bodied ghosts makes an easy no-carve Halloween decoration. Each ghost takes about 20 minutes, so a garland of 5-7 comes together in an evening.
Materials
- White or cream worsted weight yarn (about 10g per ghost)
- Small amount of black yarn or embroidery thread for faces
- 4.0mm crochet hook
- Fiberfill stuffing
- Yarn needle
- Twine or yarn for stringing the garland
Abbreviations
- MR โ magic ring
- sc โ single crochet
- inc โ increase
- dec โ invisible decrease
- st(s) โ stitch(es)
Ghost Body (make one per ghost)
Worked bottom-up in a continuous spiral.
- MR, 6 sc in ring (6)
- inc around (12)
- (1 sc, inc) around (18)
- (2 sc, inc) around (24) 5โ9. sc around, no increase (24) โ 5 rounds
Begin stuffing as you go.
- (2 sc, dec) around (18)
- (1 sc, dec) around (12)
For a classic "wavy bottom" ghost shape, stop increasing/decreasing here and instead work the final round as a scalloped edge: sc in next 2 sts, ch 2, skip 1 st, sl st in next st, repeat around, then fasten off without closing the top into a point. This leaves an open, flat bottom for the wavy hem effect.
Alternatively, for a simpler rounded ghost, continue:
- dec around (6)
Fasten off, leaving a tail. Weave through remaining stitches and cinch closed.
Face
With black yarn or embroidery thread, embroider two small oval eyes and a small "o" shaped mouth on the front of each ghost, positioned in the upper third of the body.
Assembling the Garland
Once all ghosts are complete, thread a length of twine or yarn through the top of each ghost's head using a yarn needle, spacing them evenly along the string. Tie a small knot on either side of each ghost to keep it from sliding.
Finishing
Weave in all remaining ends. Hang the garland along a mantel, window, or doorway.
Tip: vary the size of each ghost slightly by adding or removing a round or two โ a garland with a little size variation looks more charming than perfectly uniform ghosts.
